Bio
Ashley Clark was born in Chicago, IL, in 1990. Being the oldest of three children, it was her natural calling to be a leader. When she was a freshman in high school, her mother was hit by two cars days before Thanksgiving. This accident left Ashley’s mother nearly dead. I took most of her high school career for her mother to come home from the rehabilitation. Ultimately, she used school as a distraction and held the title of valedictorian for the majority of her high school career. Ashley’s senior year of higher school she was awarded the Gates Millennium Scholarship.
The Gates Millennium Scholarship provides Ashley with the opportunity to go to school for free as long as she stayed within their requirements. She started her undergrad career at the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign (UIUC). Ashley tried to crack down on her grades but was too distractions. Her senior year of college Ashley’s pursuits of education lead her to Texas. Ultimately, she received her Bachelors in History from a Christian University in Austin called St. Edwards. Transferring was one of the best decisions she ever made. Not only did she save her scholarship but I also felt that the university had an awesome curriculum and staff.
Due to the support system at St. Edwards and her boyfriend who moved from Illinois with her. She's accomplished my lifelong dreams. Ashley's worked at the Austin's Children's Museum as a camp educator and a law firm as a runner/ reception before she graduated college. Ashley’s support system helped her when her faith was low, and she missed her family back home in Chicago. After graduating college, she worked in the marketing field as a Brand Ambassador which she enjoyed but it was only fulfilling to a certain extent. One day when she reflected on her life experience when she served children and lawyers, she felt that going back to school and teach.
